TSC ANNOUNCES TRAINING CIRCULAR FOR TRAINING OF TEACHERS.
TSC teachers training circular(2024). The Centre for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) has stated that junior secondary school teachers will receive training beginning in February 2024. However, unlike earlier training, which was conducted physically for junior secondary school intern teachers.
This course will take place virtually from February 19 to March 4, 2024.
The program is aimed at Junior School STEM teachers who have not had any CEMASTEA training on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), including those who have been re-deployed from elementary to JSS.
These include primary school instructors who were assigned to teach at junior school.
All teachers who attend the course will get an allowance of sh. 8,200.
The circular below was emailed to all CTCDC members to advise them of the impending online training.

CEMASTEA appreciates the support and cooperation of the CTCDC during the implementation of the CEMASTEA activities in your county.
We have planned to conduct ICT training for Junior School (JS) STEM teachers who have not attended any CEMASTEA training on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK); including those that were re-deployed from primary to JSS.
The training will take place from February 19 to March 4, 2024, using the CEMASTEA online and virtual platforms.

Synchronous sessions will take place from 4 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Monday, February 19th through Friday,
February 23rd, 2024, while asynchronous sessions will take place from Monday, February 26th to Monday, March 4th, 2024.
The number of instructors to be trained each county has been determined as shown in Annex I.

The goal of this letter is therefore to request that the CTCDC send a list of teachers to be trained.
Use the data capture template in Annex II and please send the information in MS-Excel format for convenience of processing.
Identify the teachers from those re-deployed from primary to JS teaching science and mathematics and have not been trained by CEMASTEA on PCK.
